HANK STEINBRENNAR IS A LOUDMOUTH IDIOT!

I assure you, most everyone agrees on this.  Some people like the loudmouth idiot but that’s just a matter of taste.  Even here in NY the media and fans in a matter of months have learned to largely ignore what he says.  Its never terribly interesting and its never terribly smart.  Most importantly, its never terribly important because unlike his father Hank isn’t the boss.  There are a series of checks and balances in the Yankee system and Hank is at best 1 of 3-6 guys who make joint decisions.  His biggest edicts of the winter and spring already showed how basically powerless and full of hot air he is, unlike his father who was listened to because when he said he was going to do something it usually happened.

Wang’s injury was a fluke.  It could have happened fielding a grounder, warming up before the game, or getting his mail in the morning.  We all know that.  That it happened to occur while Wang was performing an act that Hank and millions others think he shouldn’t have had to perform was just used as an excuse.  We all know that.

An angry blowhard stressed out used that excuse to sound off and let out his frustrations.  That’s all.  He ranted about a topic that more than half of the baseball world agrees with him with.  He was a jerk and made some vague disparaging comment to some nebulous idea of whoever makes up “the NL” in pointing out that they are one of the few remaining baseball organizations in the world who maintain a system that was changed at most every high school, college, amateur, international, and professional level of baseball in the last 35 years.

Whether you like the DH or not, we all agree he was being a jerk (to whom, I have no idea).  And that Wang’s injury and his rant were almost seperate things that he just decided to link to make himself feel better.  We all agree he should shut up.  We’ve been saying it in NY for 6 months.

So please, do us all a favor and join us in ignoring Hank Steinbrennar.  He doesn’t know much about baseball, he never thinks before he speaks, and he’s basically the executive with the highest profile for the least amount of power in sports.  Because I can’t begin to understand how almost a week after his comments people are still coming up to me to give me well thought out reasons why Hank is an idiot.  Of course he is.  We were all there way before you.  So really, you can stop researching the stats on how many pitchers have been hurt rounding 3rd in ML history.  Its meaningless because you won this fight the second Hank opened his mouth.

It would just make my life easier.

Why Do You Hate Me Bud?

Posted by mooseheadjack13 on June 21, 2008

You know, there are a lot of people who hate interleage games.  I am not one of them.  I think interleague is great.  When we first started out, it was easy to understand.  You had two years of division vs. division so you could get that home and home series, then you would move on to the next year.  Simple as can be, right?

Oh, you know how it is, nothing ever remains simple in baseball.  Not when money rears its ugly head.  Baseball got a whiff of the money they could make from series like Mets-Yankees, Cubs-White Sox and Angels-Dodgers, and they went after it like they were the starving sharks and there was blood in the water.  So, we got the contrived “rivalry” games so they could have the excuse to put these games on each year.  Cause lord knows three games between the Yankees and Mets is not enough! No! We need SIX! And when the money isn’t enough, we will play NINE! At some point, the Mets and Yankees will just play 15 games during interleague and that will be all.
